Liuwa Plains National Park A trip to Liuwa Plains is unquestionably an exciting rustic experience! Most people take on the difficult trek in November/December for the migration of blue wildebeest which is said to be the second largest after the Serengeti in Tanzania. It is essential when entering this park to be fully equipped with high clearance 4x4, GPS, extra fuel, foodstuff, spare parts, puncture repair kit etc. Basically, be prepared for every eventuality. A few tour operators have organised customised safaris during the migration time. In addition to this, Liuwa is known for its impressive black maned lions and the fact that this is the only Zambian national park which allows human inhabitation. |
