The Capital City of Lusaka
Lusaka is Zambia's largest city with over 2 million people; however, at first glance it is easy to see how young this city actually is. It wasn't until 1931 that it became the capital (of Northern Rhodesia) and basically was chosen simply because it was half way between Livingstone and the Copperbelt. For all of the grief that it gets, Lusaka is actually a rather safe city (just take obvious precautions like not wearing your moneybelt to the nightclub etc). Most embassies are present as well as a shopping mall for stocking up on supplies. For more info on Lusaka please refer to www.zambiatourism.com/chachacha.
