Most travellers find themselves in Kapiri Mposhi at least once during their journey through Zambia. When the TAZARA train from Dar es Salaam is on its way in or out, this becomes quite a bustling little spot. The two-day journey to Dar es Salaam leaves on Tuesday and Friday afternoons (tickets best bought beforehand). If you have a valid picture ID student card then train ticket is half price.
