Shiwa N'gandu
If this house was built today, it would be amazing; considering Shiwa was built in the 1920s makes it phenomenal! Shiwa House really must be seen to be believed. 'The Africa House' written by Christina Lamb beautifully tells the story of an amazing British country manor house built in the middle of the bush in Central Africa. Overlooking the 'the lake of the royal crocodiles' (where David Livingstone's beloved dog is said to have been taken by crocodiles) and surrounded by massive eucalyptus and blue gum trees, this house is the result of the efforts and dreams of Stewart Gore-Brown. It still remains in the family and plans are in place to make the house into an up-market hotel; however tours of the house are available and camping or mid-market accommodation can be found down the road at the Kapishya Hot Springs.
